Why this film
Every world needs a vacation episode. The one where nothing explodes and nobody learns a huge lesson. Just two friends at the beach.
Doodle has never seen the ocean. He's a robot, so water is basically his villain. But he's also my best friend, and best friends go to the beach together.
This is the ending I always wanted for the Dinesh episode. Me and Doodle, sunset, no dialogue needed. So I made it its own film.
Scene 1
Arrival
0:00 - 0:20
DOODLE (staring): "It's... so much water."
Scene 1
Doodle freezes at the edge of the sand, eyes wide. The ocean stretches forever. Sally is already running ahead, laughing.
Scene 2
The Water Problem
0:20 - 0:45
SALLY (encouraging): "Just one toe. I promise the ocean won't eat you."
Scene 2
Doodle dips one metal toe into the surf, leaning way back. He yelps and hops away. Sally laughs with him, not at him.
Scene 3
Sandcastle
0:45 - 1:05
SALLY (laughing): "It's a sandcastle, not a skyscraper."
Scene 3
Doodle engineers tiny structural buttresses around the sandcastle walls with total seriousness. Sally places a shell on top and declares it perfect.
Scene 4
Sunset
1:05 - 1:30
No dialogue. They sit side by side in the sand and watch the sun go down.
Scene 4
Golden light on the water. Two friends, quiet. The ending this film was always building toward.
